Your URC pro can easily add on other products including URC LED or Vivido™ wireless lighting, streaming music players from URC, Sonos® and others, thermostats and beyond. Possibilities for you to take total control are vast with the MRX-8. Ideal for small to mid-range homes, offices, and condos, this robust control center stores and issues control commands for all your components throughout the house over your home network. Small in size but huge on value, this piece sits in any room or a central equipment rack and delivers robust control of your entertainment, lights, security, door locks, temperature and more. The MRX-8 issues control commands to up to 32 audio/video zones despite it's small size. After paying a local installer $350 previously to program a URC remote for me, and being really disappointed with the terrible job he did, I've insisted on being given the software for any URC device I purchase and programming it myself.URC MRX-8 Intelligent Central Control Processor is ideal solution for smart home, powerful home automation that is easy to fit in and control various entertainment devices, lights, security, door locks, temperature and more. So I'd just pay them the $25 for the software and program it yourself. If you bought it from a local installer, they would probably want to program it for you also (larger profit center) and most seem to charge upwards of $150/hr for that. Paying $25 for the software isn't that bad of a deal though if you were planning on programming it yourself anyways. So currently I have a paper weight for my coffee table. I asked how they could charge for a program that they didn't own and should have stated in the ad that it was required to make the device work. They said they would email me the link once I paid the $25. When asked about the software to program it they told me it would be an additional $25. Interesting news: I purchased an MX-890 from EBay that stated they were an authorized dealer for URC.
